The ghost pepper is an interspecific hybrid chili pepper, grown in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, northeastern Indian states. The ghost pepper is an extremely variable plant which produces a wide variety of fruit sizes. In general, a fully ripe ghost pepper measures in length from 2.4 to 3.3 inches, and wide from 1.0 to 1.2 inches. Depending on their ripeness the peppers themselves are red, yellow, orange.
