Gaillardia is widely referred to as a blanket herb, and for good reason: it will practically cover your planting beds in the orange, red, and yellow layers. Blooming from spring to fall, it's just as low maintenance as it's beautiful, a showstopper.
The first step to planting your Gaillardia flower seeds is to soak them in water for at least 24 hours. This will help the seeds start to swell and soften so they are easier to plant.
Next, you need a container that has drainage holes in the bottom and fill it with potting soil or compost that is well-draining and light. Plant your Gaillardia seeds about 1 inch deep in the soil or compost, spacing them about 6 inches apart from each other.
Then you need to put your container in a warm place where it will get plenty of sunlight.
