- Soil Preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-drained, fertile soil. Enrich the soil with compost or organic matter to promote healthy growth.
- Sowing Seeds: Direct sow seeds outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep and 2-4 inches apart in rows spaced 18-24 inches apart.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply at the base of the plants to encourage strong root development.
- Growing: Thin seedlings to 6-12 inches apart once they reach 2-3 inches in height. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and reduce weeds.
- Harvesting: Harvest outer leaves as needed once they reach a usable size, usually within 50-60 days. For continuous harvest, avoid cutting the central growing point.
