  • High Yield: Zucchini plants are known for their prolific production, providing a continuous supply of fresh produce throughout the growing season.

Planting Instructions:

  1. Direct Sowing: Sow seeds directly in the garden after the last frost date when the soil has warmed to at least 60°F (16°C).
  2. Sowing Depth: Plant seeds 1 inch deep and 2-3 feet apart in rows spaced 3-4 feet apart. Alternatively, sow seeds in hills, spacing hills 3-4 feet apart and planting 3-4 seeds per hill.
  3. Soil Preparation: Zucchini prefers well-drained, fertile soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. Enrich the soil with organic compost before planting.
  4. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during germination and early growth stages. Water at the base of the plants to avoid wetting the leaves, which can lead to fungal diseases.
  5. Thinning: Thin seedlings to 1-2 plants per hill or 2-3 feet apart in rows once they have 2-3 true leaves.
  6. Care: Mulch around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Apply a balanced organic fertilizer as needed to support vigorous growth.
  7. Pest Control: Monitor for common pests such as squash bugs and cucumber beetles. Use organic pest control methods as necessary.
  8. Harvesting: Harvest zucchini when they are young and tender, about 6-8 inches long, for the best flavor and texture. Regular harvesting encourages continuous production.
