Watermelon radishes are as easy to grow as other forms of radish. However, they take longer than other varieties to mature-about 65 days.
Plant them early through late spring. They can be planted again every two weeks for a continuous harvest. Radishes thrive in organic-rich, well-drained, fertile, deep, sandy soil.
You may want to alter the soil with 2-4 inches of well composted organic matter and 2-4 cups of all purpose fertilizer (16-16-8 or 10-10-10-) per 100 square feet before sowing watermelon radish seeds, particularly if your soil tends to be hard.
