Cupids Dart Blue Flower Seeds (Catananche Caerulea)
Cupids Dart Blue Flower Seeds (Catananche Caerulea)
Cupids Dart (Catananche Caerulea Blue) - What a lovely perennial for neighboring cottage gardens or trees. Grown from seeds of Catananche caerulea, this long-stemmed flower is excellent for cutting. Commonly known as Cupid's Dart or Love Flower, with dark blue eyes, it is well-known for its beautiful blue blooms. This fills the vase with pretty fresh flowers, and these flowers always dry well, making appealing additions to dried arrangements. Cupid's Dart's bloom season is long and lasts throughout the summer and into autumn. Warm summers in full sun and poor soil do not prevent this Dart Cupid plant from performing well.
Cupid's Dart will bloom within the first year if the seed of the flower is planted early, in late winter. To do an early planting, use moist seed compost and starter trays to sow Catananche caerulea seeds indoors. Sow the Cupid's Dart seeds on the surface, and cover with moistened soil lightly the flower seeds. Keep the seeds moist until they germinate. When seedlings are sufficiently large to handle transplants into 3 inch pots. Hold them in a position of light but not in direct heat. Gradually harden the Dart plants of Cupid to outside conditions for 10-15 days until they are planted in their permanent position after the frost season has passed.
