A Japanese maple bonsai tree is a type of bonsai tree that has red or green leaves. It changes color with the seasons. In the spring, it has bright green leaves. In the summer, it has dark green leaves. In the fall, it has red or orange leaves. In the winter, it has no leaves at all. It is amazing to see how it changes.
Combo Value Pack Includes:
10 x Japanese Maple Tree Bonsai Seeds
10 x Japanese Sakura Cherry Blossom seeds
Germinating the Seeds
Put the seeds in a plastic bag with some moist paper towels. Seal the bag and put it in the fridge for 4 weeks. This is called stratification. It makes the seeds think that winter is over and they can sprout.
Caring for the Seedlings
After 4 weeks, take the seeds out of the fridge and plant them in small pots with soil. Make sure the soil is moist but not wet.
Put the pots in a sunny place and water them regularly. The seeds will start to grow roots and shoots.
Transplanting your Seedlings
When the shoots have 2 or 3 leaves, you can transplant them to bigger pots with potting soil.
Shaping your Bonsai
Prune the roots and branches of your bonsai tree to shape it and keep it small. You can use scissors or wire to do this. Be careful not to cut too much or hurt your tree.
Growing a Japanese maple bonsai tree from seeds is a fun and rewarding project. Enjoy your Japanese maple bonsai tree and watch it grow and change colors.
